Red Pepper Bread


This amazing sweet red pepper bread is originally coming from Antakya that is the seat of the Hatay Province in southern Turkey. Really delicious and good appetizer for your guests.


For dough

  • 500 gram (around 2 medium size water glasses organic flour)
  • 1/2 glass drinking water
  • 1 teaspoon yeast
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

For topping

  • 3 big sweet red pepper
  • 1/2 of onion
  • 1 tablespoon zataar or dried thyme or dried oregano (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt


  • In a bowl, mix the flour, salt, yeast together and add water and knead it to develop dough.
  • When you have soft dough, cover it and let it to rest (min 1 hour)
  • Preheat oven to 200 degrees and start to prepare topping.
  • Put red pepper and onion in a food processor and begin to process.
  • Add olive oil, sesame seeds and zataar and stir by using tablespoon.Processed with Moldiv
  • Take your dough and prepare medium round shaped thin dough.

  • Spread your topping ingredients evenly onto the breads.


  • Put them into the oven and bake them around 20 min  in 200 degree.
